Mrs. Ella Mae Wade Brayboy (ca. 1918- ) is a community activist in Atlanta, GA. She is best known for her work with voter registration in Atlanta. Mrs. Brayboy is a native of Atlanta and graduated from Booker T. Washington High School in 1935. She attended Spelman College. She is the widow of William Brayboy and has three daughters.

Mrs. Brayboy has worked all of her life in some aspect of community work. Immediately prior to her retirement in March, 1995, she worked as the Community Outreach Coordinator for the Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change. Her many work experiences and activities throughout her lifetime include the following: working with voter registration since 1962 with the All Citizen Registration Committee and the Voter Education Project sponsored by SCLC; working as a Neighborhood Analyst for the Community Council of Atlanta, 1965-1972; serving as a Congressional aide to Representative Andrew Young, 1973-1976; Consultant to ACTION, 1977; Consultant to MARTA and to Atlanta University School of Library and Information Studies. Mrs. Brayboy was one of the first black deputy registrars in Atlanta in 1964 and she helped place voter registration in the Atlanta Public Library system. She is a past president of United Methodist Women. She has served on numerous boards, including Fulton County Family and Children Services; Wesley Homes; and Ebenezer Baptist Church Day Care Center for the Elderly. Mrs. Brayboy has been a member of the Martin Luther King State Holiday Commission, 1985-1991. She has received numerous awards for her contributions to the citizens of Atlanta.

Mrs. Brayboy is currently a member of the Fulton County Council on Aging and is working with elderly persons assisting them with applying for benefits as well as advocating for a senior citizens facility to be built by Grady hospital in Atlanta.
