Historical Sketch
The Atlanta Interfaith Broadcasters (AIB) has existed since 1969 as a pioneer in local religious television across America. The primary role of the organization is community service. It presents programs with a worship theme for persons unable to attend services. AIB is an interfaith support structure for local congregations, motivating people to join and get involved in the life of the congregation.
AIB operates a cable network, which is governed by a Board of Directors whose members are interested in both the media and the Atlanta religious community. The Board sets programming policy, format, and general guidelines pertaining to the network's operations. The cable network operates out of the Peachtree Christian Church in northeast Atlanta, Georgia.

Donation to Atlanta-Fulton Public Library
On July 15, 1991, Atlanta Interfaith Broadcasters donated 22 videos to the Samuel Williams Collection of the Special Collections Department of the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library. The videotapes represent several denominations and reflect the history of many different communities throughout Georgia and South Carolina. Included are interviews with 18 individuals, a worship service taped in the Sea Islands of South Carolina, and a lecture delivered at a religious conference. AIB will continue to donate tapes from their video project to the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library as new ones are created. The Auburn Avenue Research Library on African American Culture and History houses the collection in the Archives Division.
