Biographical / Historical

Cynthia Watts (May 10,1948- April 25,2026) was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She earned degrees in Sociology, Human Communication, and Theatre from The University of Denver. She taught at Kittrell College, Thomas Nelson Community College,and Atlanta Metropolitan College until her retirement in 2011. Inspired by family storytelling traditons, Watts became recognized for her storytelling performances throughout Georgia and beyond, through organizations such as the Georgia Council for the Arts and Alternate R.O.O.T.S.
