Scope and Contents

The Alpha Kappa Alpha International collection consists of the sorority's Ivy Leaf magazine and other publications, newspaper and magazine articles, newsletters, notes, events, committee reports, meeting minutes, national and regional conference brochures and programs, directories, and administrative records. The collection also includes audiovisual material and ephemera.

Overview The collection consists of the papers of Annie L. McPheeters from 1915 to 1993. It includes correspondence, reports, notes, photographs, and a variety of printed materials that are largely clippings, brochures, pamphlets, journals, and books. Much of the collection relates to McPheeters' personal involvement with the Auburn and the West Hunter branches of the Atlanta Public Library, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Warren Memorial United Methodist Church, and the Utopian Literary Club.
